Privacy Policy

How DJ Lane Studio handles the information you send through djlanewv.com when you ask about DJ lessons, studio rental, audio recording, or sound design.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how DJ Lane Studio collects, uses, and stores personal information submitted through djlanewv.com. It applies to enquiries, booking requests, and any other information you send through the site.

It sits alongside the Cookie Policy and our Terms of Service, and it covers the whole site: the pages describing DJ lessons and music classes, the pages describing rehearsal studio rental and sound recording, and the contact forms used to arrange any of them.

What we collect, and what we leave alone

Information you give us

  • Your name — so a reply can be addressed to you.
  • Email address and phone number — so we can answer, confirm a session, or move a time.
  • What your enquiry is about — DJ lessons, rehearsal studio rental, audio recording, sound design, or music production work.
  • Any detail you choose to add — preferred days, experience level, the kind of room or session you need.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment card details through this website. Sessions are arranged and confirmed with a person at the studio, not through an online checkout.

Optional details

Everything beyond a name and a way to reach you is optional. If you leave a note about the music classes or sessions you have in mind, we simply use it to prepare a useful reply.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, confirm bookings, and communicate about sessions. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to your request.

Answering your enquiry

We read what you sent and reply by the contact method you gave us, usually within the studio's opening hours.

Confirming a session

Booking details for DJ lessons, studio rental, or a recording slot are kept so both sides know what was agreed.

Keeping in touch about your booking

If a time moves or something about your session changes, we contact you using the details you supplied.

Nothing else

Your details are not added to unrelated mailing lists and are not passed to anyone for their own use.

Cookies and analytics

The site may use cookies to support basic functionality and to understand how pages are used. See the Cookie Policy for details on the categories used and how to control them in your browser.

Two kinds of cookie can be involved. The first keeps the site working — remembering a form you have already started, or how a page is displayed on your device. The second helps us see which pages people actually read, so pages about DJ lessons, music production, sound recording, and audio mixing can be improved instead of guessed at.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the functional ones may make parts of the site behave oddly, but it will not stop you from calling or emailing the studio. The Cookie Policy sets out the categories used and the controls available to you.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not share your personal information with third parties except where required to deliver a service you requested, or where required by law. In practice that means a narrow set of situations, and we would rather name them than leave the sentence vague.

  • Delivering what you asked for

If a session involves another engineer, a guest instructor, or a room booked on your behalf, the details needed to run that session are shared with the people running it. Nothing more is passed on.

  • Where the law requires it

If a lawful request is made for records we hold, we respond to it. We do not hand over enquiry details on an informal basis.

  • What never happens

We do not sell your details, and we do not trade lists of enquirers with other businesses, including other Toronto music studio operators.

Retention

We keep enquiry and booking information only as long as needed to respond to your request and maintain records of confirmed sessions. After that, information is deleted or anonymized.

A simple enquiry that never becomes a booking is the shortest-lived: once it has been answered and there is nothing to follow up, there is no reason to keep it. Confirmed sessions are held longer because both sides benefit from a record of what was booked.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. Contact the studio using the details on the Contact page to make a request.

  • Access — ask what we hold under your name and contact details.
  • Correction — have a wrong phone number or misspelled name fixed.
  • Deletion — ask us to remove an enquiry record once it has served its purpose.

Write to [email protected] or call +1-416-539-9725 and say what you would like changed. We may ask a question or two to confirm we are dealing with the right record, then act on it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in how the site operates. The current version is always published on this page. If a change affects how we handle information you have already sent us, we will say so here rather than quietly editing the wording.

This policy was last reviewed on 3 November 2026. If something in it is unclear, ask before you send any information you are unsure about.

Questions we are asked about privacy

Do I have to give my phone number to ask about DJ lessons?

No. An email address is enough for us to reply, and many enquiries about music classes and DJ lessons are handled entirely by email. A phone number helps when a session time needs to be sorted quickly, but it is your choice whether to include one.

Will you keep the files I record in the studio?

Session files from a sound recording or audio mixing booking belong to you. This policy covers the information you send through the website — a name, a way to reach you, and what you asked about — not the audio you make in the room. Ask at the desk when you book and we will explain where your files sit and how long they stay on the studio drives.

Does the website take payment for studio rental?

No card details are collected through djlanewv.com. A rehearsal studio rental or a recording session is arranged with the studio directly, so nothing payment-related passes through this site and there is nothing of that kind for us to store.

I asked a question months ago and never booked. Is my message still on file?

Probably not. Enquiries that do not turn into a booking are kept only while there is a reason to follow up, then removed. If you would rather not wait, send a deletion request to the studio email and it will be actioned.

Still unsure? Ask us first.

A short message is fine. Tell us what you would like to know about the studio, a session, or the information we hold, and we will answer plainly before you decide anything.
